Thanks to Wilburn for giving me a chance to try this guitar out. It's a great looking guitar & has that big sound & feel that Fessy's are known for (I've had several in the past and this is right up there with them). I had been thinking about trying out a D-11 for a long time and as Jim says, the price was way too good to pass up the opportunity. But after spending a few days with it I have realized that right now I should be simplifying my setup, not expanding it. I've got enough practicing to do on 10 strings, and really I've been using my D-8/7 nonpedal for most gigs anyways. . . thanks again to Wilburn for being gracious enough to give me an "approval" period, and I have no doubt that this steel is right for somebody.
ps I contacted James Palenscar at Northern Steels where Wilburn bought the instrument, and he still has 3 more knee levers (LK2s) that were originally on it & offered to ship them to me quite reasonably, in case someone wants to take it back to 8x8. |

Hey everyone I decided to go ahead and hang on to it until I get back from a short tour so I can spend a little more time with it and make a better decision. I'll let you know if I still decide to pass it on. Thanks for the inquiries! |
