Also, I wanted to add that when I say the HWP Mullen is the finest steel guitar I have ever played for my taste, I am referring to tone, sustain, staying in tune, string breakage, playability and workmanship. All these things are important factors, but the bottom line is tone and the HWP does it for me.

Also, for those of you who are not aware of it, the HWP is quite a bit different than the Royal Precision model. Don't get me wrong, the RP is a great guitar too, but the changers are different, the cabinet is different, the pickup is different plus some cosmetic differences, but the tone is different because of the changer, cabinet and pickup.

dear HWP,
not only have i been a huge fan since i wan 14
when i finnaly stoped plunkin' around with old has beens, wantabe's, etc. i know what i like when i hear it. ive heard every guitar there is and a whole lot of players. but everyone who played a mullen just had a tone that i liked. i'm hardly a "player" but this steel is the best thing ive ever sat behind the pedel action, the tone, i pump the tar out of this thing and its a rock. so glad i bought the hwp. |

Hey Guys, I have played an HWP Mullen, 8+4 for 6 years now. Purchased new from Herby. Prior to that I played a Sho-bud Professional 8+4 for 27 years. I have to say that my experience in PSG's has not been broad, but if I were to purchase a new PSG it would be a HWP Mullen 8+4. I am over 70 now, so I am not contemplating doing that, but you just never know, do you?
I set up and teare down an average of four time per week. That totals out to 1408 times per year and that makes a grand total of over 8400 times in six years. I have never a had a problem with anything except the accasionl surprise string breaking. The quality of the Mullen product is for a lifetime! |
