The guitar actually sells for well below list at most places... folk of the wood has it for {price deleted}
Not to rain on the parade, but you might not get takers on a used instrument above the price of new ones at a known retailer.
Take it easy...[This message was edited by b0b on 23 June 2005 at 11:16 PM.] |

Chuck's price for the Regal Black Lightning is a very good deal. It's a brand new instrument with hsc.
And Chuck stands behind what he sells - if there's ever any problem he takes care of it right away. Chuck has been a Steel Guitar Player and respected musical instruments dealer for many years.[This message was edited by Rick Alexander on 24 June 2005 at 02:05 PM.] |

I think that price is very reasonable price for a BRAND NEW (not used) Black Lighning w/case. It is beautiful and sounds fantastic.
And the fact you get to deal with an honest and very reputable person that stands behind EVERYTHING he sells.
Although Folk of the Woods IS {deleted}. it does not come with a new hard shell case either.
I don't know why I am writing this 'cause I am saving my pennies to try and buy this one. I guess it's because I know what a great guy Chuck is.
Hey Chuck, would ya throw in one of them Black Pheonix bars. Need some new picks too.....

Presumably the instrument Chuck is selling, since Rick and Cindy are vouching for him, is one of the newer "corrected" Black Lightnings.
Saga had some quality control issues with these awhile back, with neck separation and sloppy finish work.
This was the first Asia imported reso on the market where you could get the upgrades, like the Quarterman cone, etc. to give you the biggest bang for the buck. They are nice looking guitars for the money.
Now they have company with the Goldtone Beard becoming popular.

Please note that it is against Forum policy to post discount prices on new instruments. Read http://steelguitarforum.com/agree.html .
The bickering that happened above is an example of the reason for the rule. I have deleted the price from Chuck's ad. Anyone who is interested in the guitar should email him for the price.
