THIS IS A COLLECTORS DREAM, it is the only mica finish D-10 ShoBud ever factory made. Hal told me he thought this guitar was a 1972 model that he helped build along with Dewayne Marrs. He also said that he was relatively sure that this was the first ShoBud ever built with metal necks.
The mica used was selected by Hal and Shot to appear as a laquer guitar on TV as Hal intended to play this guitar on such shows as the Wilburn Brothers. It is also a good playing and sounding guitar as you would naturally expect since it belonged a master. It is still in excellent condition with the original case also in very good shape. The only noticeable thing about this guitar is someone has taken the extra knee levers off that Hal had on the guitar, leaving a few screw holes underneath. It is currently 8 & 4 Emmons setup.
This price might sound a bit high for a Shobud, but I feel the rarity and the history of this guitar makes it worth more by far than the average guitar.
Price is $2,650. Firm. Photos can be seen at http://groups.msn.com/BobbyReedsSteelGuitarTradingRoom
