I sold this about a week ago, and it did not work out, so i am relisting it.

I need to sell this guitar for cash as soon as possible. 1800.00 plus shipping!
Remember ,it has 8+8 that would cost you some serious money to replace.
I think it weighs about 38 to 40 lbs. It comes with a case that looks good but has some wear.
I bought this beautiful guitar, back around November 22 from Frank Parish. It used to belong to Thompson Cartwright, Several buyers wanted this guitar at the time. It is Wine Red,and was made in 94. It is a lacquer wood body, with some small marks on the back of the steel. But no way does it take away from the beauty of this Carter.
It is really a sweet sounding guitar. Here is a quote from Frank Parish back on November 26,on the forum. .
"It was purple when new but has faded to a wine color and really I like it a lot better than before. It looks incredible on stage like the finish was original. The underneath of the guitar is still purple.
No BCT but really it plays great and has great sustain. It was sent back to Carter for a set-up this past summer. The guitar is a hard rock maple wood body with real Abalone you'd pay a lot more for if you ordered a new one. It has GL 1-10 p-ups.
It stays in tune and returns true every time.
Standard Emmons set up with the F# to G# raise on the first string E9 and G# to F# on the 6th string E9.
It also has the Franklin 4th pedal lowering the 5th and 6th strings a whole tone on E9.
The back neck is standard with the D on top with the exception of the Jernigan 4th pedal and a vertical that lowers the 6th string a whole tone. It'll do about anything for chords and the Jernigan pedal is very cool."Unquote!
It is truly one of the best guitars i ever owned. And one of the smoothest too.

Bobby told me the Marrs was a new PSG. When it arrived it was in a old beat up case and wrapped in paper..The steel was not new. It was made around 1990 or so. It had been gone thru in 2000, by Duane Marrs and had several good new parts in it, But it was still a older steel and did not come close to his discription. Fretboard coming off,old tuning pegs, old pedals and knee levers with the exception of the LVK which was made in 2000 i guess. It had a new changer and undercarriage and rods and tuners but NEW it was not. Bobby last words to me were the following.
" I left a phone message for you explaining my talk with Duane Marrs. This guitar was built in late '99 or early 2000. This is definitely a light weight guitar. With that hip problem, it might be what you're looking."

I called Duane too and he said the guitar, was a guitar made in the mid 90's, which contradicted Bobbys talk with Duane Marrs, and me. The guitar was not as Bobby described and i have the option of refusing delivery on this steel. Hope this answers your questions.

I just talked to Bobby and explained everything, as he was out of town, and could not get to his emails. I forgot that he told me was going away also.
Anyway,He thought the Marrs was a 1999-2000 as Duane had told him he Rebuilt that steel then. Bobby thought he Built it new then. Easy mistake to make i guess.
Anyway when that Marrs comes back up for sale, it is a good one made in he mid 90's and rebuilt around 2000!

It appears to have the same undercarriage and changer as the ones i saw on the Marrs site, on the Sho Buds , Duane rebuilds, except he put them on a mid 90's Marrs.
Anyway both guitars will prabably be back on the forum and both are good guitars.
So anybody want to advance to the C6 neck? and spend some time learning 8 pedals? and 8 knees?

Thought I'd give this one a well-deserved bump. I've seen and played this steel, and at $1800 it's the bargain of the forum.

I just wanted to say I've known Bob Reed for many years and have traded with him on and off. What he says is the truth also I've seen this steel and have seen it played it sounds great and anyone would be proud to own it. Its in great shape I would never run down another mans steel if it was not what I wanted I would contact the owner and it would be between me and him nobody else not on the forum for all to read it saves on hard feelings.
