....but Bobbee....in 1964 the stringmaster wasn't vintage, it was just an old used guitar that was obsolete because it didn't have any pedals! www.genejones.com

Joey and Gene, you are both right! To be honest, I'd like to have and old Fender StringMaster with on old "Shot-Jackson" pedal on it. Shot did a good job doing this and I feel this is part of our "steel History". Most pedal jobs were butcher jobs though. I'm sure a "Shot-Ped" will turn up somewhere. I can understand this "desire to own",
Bobbe,

(A converted P-P with a plastic body? Good Lord Joey!)

At guitar shows I've seen old lap steels with a hole or two between the nut and the tuning key. They would run a coat hanger up through the hole and hook it over the string to pull it, and hook the bottom of the coat hanger to a sewing machine pedal or something. All for that twang.

Hi guys. I'm the one who bought this "travesty" on eBay. I plan to use it to restore a beautiful blonde swamp ash Deluxe 8 that someone had canabalized for parts. I thought that by using two basket cases to make one good one would be a good thing to do. I may not be using all the parts, so I'll let you know what's available after I've finished the restoration.
