Nice pics of fine looking Pro-II (Not Custom) with some transitional features like the square cabinet smaller pedals and raised graphics on the fretboards yet keeping the traditional curved knees and Gumby headstock-this one I figure dates from about 1978-Any comments Ricky D? |

Graham, I'm very interested as I have been looking for a Red (I have a beautiful red Pro 1 E9) C6. Are the copedents Standad on the C6 neck? Also what are the copedents on the E9 neck? Thanks, Larry

Hey Paul; that looks to me like a first run Pro~II Custom...and it should say "The Pro~II Custom" on the side where it says "Pro~II"....>so looks like it's been re-finished or re-lacquerd(hard to tell) because the original stickers are actually water decals under the lacquer.
The first run of Pro~II Customs had the curved knees and head stocks and slick narrow pedals and were made in the 1976 and after era.

That steel is similar to my Pro III Custom except mine has 4KL's and metal necks...same teardrop knees and smooth narrow pedals... |

Ricky-I got my Pro-II D-12 8+4 Natural Birdseye the summer of '76 (after high school graduation) It was square front and small pedals but it had the Gumby headstock, curved knees, and flat fretboards-It was a double raise single lower with the short nylon hex ends-I figured this one to be just a little later than my graduation present (to myself) |

huh, what a beauty. And $1600??? Why do I think this guitar should be worth over 2K ?Because it is.Who ever buys this one will have a great instrument for a more than a fair price.I would love to buy it myself but can`t do it right now.Bump for this piece of art.

Question for Graham and/or Sho-Bud experts:
How difficult and expensive would it be to add two more knee levers?
Thanks Much,
Grant

It can be done but I don't know for what price. Ricky Davis appears to be the man for that kind of stuff. Also I know Bobbe Seymore has lots of old Sho-Bud parts.
Guys...thanks for the compliments. No serious offers yet...don't make me put this beauty on Ebay, I would much rather sell it to a Forumite! |

Grant; the parts for a RKR added to work both necks with two pulls each....is around 125.00 and a LKR added to work the E9 neck with two pulls would be around 100.00.
And Duane Marrs www.duanemarrs.com has these parts and is who I also order parts from.

Graham, your Sho~Bud is an absolute beauty. I have never seen anything like it. I'd offer my Fessenden as a trade, but I see that you already have another great D-10. Good luck with the sale and thanks for letting me take a peek at that fantastic piece of wood.
