Scale length is 22 ¼, overall length is 32”, couldn’t find any serial #, but suspect early ‘60’s. Forumite Ron Victoria has shed some light on this instrument for me. Chrome bridge plate on outer neck still shiny, chrome on closer neck has some scratches. It looks like someone tried to do some modifications behind the bridge of the inside neck and then restored it back to "original" condition, because the tailpiece plate on inside neck is not original. It is identical to the other tailpiece in shape but is polished steel instead of chrome; and the amp cord outlet location has been moved by about 1 1/2 inches. Very few checks in the finish, no paint flaking. Neck selector is a three position toggle switch (one for each neck, middle position for both necks at once). Blend pot for pickups work well but one is bit stiff and both are missing knobs. Tuners work fine, none are bent, tuning knobs are plastic and may not be original.
Volume and tone pots are all fine, and quiet (no scratchiness). Sound through Peavey amp is excellent. Case is wood, covered in black vinyl, with red felt interior (not original). Case has light scratches on outside but functionally fine. The 4 legs, along with tone bar (slide) are in the case. Overall rating: 7/10
Pictures available upon request.
$800.00. No trade please.
