ANYONE interested in acquiring a mighty fine BIGSBY steel guitar?

I know of a great little 7-string Bakelite Rick also available at this time.

BOTH are as rare as hen's teeth. If interested, let me know without delay, Okay?

Let me know what would really grab your interest, okay?

Jussi.......... you're right; I'm NOT selling mine.

The Bigsby is a pristine double neck with two pedals, similar to the A & B pedals on today's E9th neck.

I've purchased a guitar from this same individual some years back and he's a great person to do business with. Write me if you want more details.

Fellows your responses are appreciated and have been forwarded directly to the "seller" to review, evaluate and consider.

He likely will be contacting you direct or whatever. I saw a seven string Rick for sale on eBay under "lap steel". I'm wondering if it might be the same lad?

If I could convert something I have into quick pocket change, I'd snap this baby up in heart beat. They only made one out of every 10 or 40 into seven stringers, isn't that correct?

Ray, the historian in me would like to know who was the original owner of this Bigsby. If you have that information, it'd be greatly appreciated ( perhaps another name on my list, ya know )

Has anyone been contacted by the Seller about this guitar yet?
I have not received any email from Ray or the Seller concerning these items.
Just wondering if they are still available.

Just to clarify, since Ray is getting bombarded with emails after putting the word out, the 7-string Ric is the one on Ebay, item #3742584077. I hadn't really considered posting here on the Forum about it since I was listing several other items simultaneously, but since there is some confusion, I'll announce it now. It's a great guitar, in super nice condition, and we all know how rare and desirable these are! You can see the Ebay listing for more info, and of course feel free to email me. And...if a Forum member wins the bidding war, then I'll send a donation to the Forum as is customary. I believe the auction closes on Sunday at 7:40 or so, Pacific time.
Thanks,
Dana

Dana D-I was wondering then if the Bigsby for sale was the "Thelma Boyle" D-8 that I had previously owned?

Paul: That's the one--Thelma. Not really for sale at this time--I was just considering it. You know how that goes! We all want to keep them until a moment of weakness or someone talks us out of them! I suppose everything's for sale! Hey Mike--New Mexico? What the....Nice state man!

I think it best if you not contact me again. Ever!

I will likewise never intentionally contact you!

I don't carry grudges.......But I do remember.

May your fine playing forever bring you great joy.

"What did I fail to mention?"

Ray,
Here's what you forgot to mention.
You forgot to mention the sellers name and contact info, for one thing.
Also, The guy isn't really interested in selling the Bigsby.
Here is a note I received from the seller (BTW, is this how the whole Sierra thing got started?... trying to "help" and all?).

Pete:
The Bigsby belongs to yours truely. I actually only casually mentioned to Ray that I was considering selling it, but was not for sure. I think he got a bit enthusiastic about helping. But anyway, haven't decided at this point.
I suppose if someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse I would be more serious about it. I know, however, that I'll probably never find another--I looked too long and hard for this one.
Thanks,
Dana

Pete: As I have said previously..........to contact "the SELLER"
regarding the Bigsby OR, the Rick, go to "lap steel" on eBay where "the seller" has the Rick posted and correspond directly with him via his posted email address. What did I fail to mention?

He lives in southern California. He still has the Bigsby, Beyond that I don't know what I can tell you. He's a nice guy and I'm sure will be most happy to answer any all questions you might have.

Hi Ray,
I'm not interested in the Lap Steel.
Is the Bigsby still available?
Is it in the Portland area?
Thx,
Pete B.

Please close this thread. The Ric is sold. I still have the Bigsby and have contacted those who emailed Ray about it. If and when I decide to formally offer it for sale, I'll decide how to go about it at that time.

Words can't describe how much I appreciate Ray and what he has offered to our community. He has been one of my best friends that I have never met in person! I am envious of his knowledge base, and always look forward to his involvement with discussions. Most of all, I respect him as a person, and appologize if any of this caused him upset. Let's all just chill out and move forward.
Thanks,
Dana
