Parts of this riff also work well on strings 6 and 10 with minor adjustments. Note that string 3 holds the same drone note for most of the progression.

Jim,
I use Excel to create the notes, print it out, then add the dashes by hand. Then I scan it at 200 DPI and adjust it for 800 pixels width. I have a few where I've done the dashes in excel also.

Bob,
Typo! 3rd string, 4th note to the right should be at fret 9. There are no slants here. The 3rd string note is basically a drone while the 5th strings walks up the scale.
I found one other error and fixed both of them. The Tab should be correct now.

the last series of notes.

| Jay, Are you trying to print from within your browser. If so then your settings for printing may need to be adjusted. An alternative is to right click in the area where the tab is displayed and "save" the file. Then print it from whatever program you view pictures with. These posts from Greg are awesome. Its really cool for him to share his talents and time with us. |

Thanks for all the work you have put into these examples, Greg. I appreciate that the sound quality is great and the tab is clear because I have spent some time with them.
What is "chromatic" in this example ? Are there adjacent notes, as in the chromatic scale, or is it use of the chromatic strings ? |

John,
When I started playing the top two strings were always referred to around here as the chromatics and the E9th as the chromatic tuning. I just created little titles for these so I could remember what they were from the descriptions to keep track of what ground I have covered. So.... some of the names are just little memory joggers for me and may not have a lot of meaning.
