If anyone is interested, post or email me and I will send you as an attachment two Excel 10-string TABs I created: one a template (16 bars on a page), the other for "Sleepwalk" so you can see what it looks like. You can then print it out and fill in your notation, or use Excel to fill it in (in large, bold, easily read font). If you have Excel but lack the time or know-how to readily create a TAB in Excel, let me know what you'd like (6-, 8-, 12-string; 3/4, 4/4, etc. time; colors, no colors, bells-whistles) and I will create one for you.
NOTE: TELL ME THE NUMBER OF STRINGS YOU WANT THE TAB FOR.

Wow. I just opened the file and printed out the first page of Sleepwalk without even reading how to do it. Very extensive work and very nice. I can't say enough. I am not that familiar with Excel but with Ed's document I'm confident that I will be able to use it.
I just found Excel for Dummies that I bought at a used book store and never read. Guess I will have to dig into it.

I have received many requests for the Excel template, which I am continually upgrading - and will continue to do so. Since I have never used TABs, your input aids my learning process. I will automatically send out updates and other suggestions I receive until you scream Uncle! NOTE: TELL ME THE NUMBER OF STRINGS YOU WANT THE TAB WRITTEN FOR.
Excel is a neat program with many possibilities, from TAB creation, financial tracking, to calculating the average frequency of tripping over your pedal-to-amp cable based on shoe size, style, and beverage intake.
Although it can be complex, Excel's basic functions are more mystique than difficult (it's a lot easier than PSG). If anyone would like a tutorial, I have a few good ones that I DL'ed and will be happy to send. There are also a few very good university and private web sites that have excellent tutorials that I can point you to. If you need bedtime reading, John Walkenbach is THE Excel guru and he puts out a 1000 page volume on Excel each time Microsoft updates the program. ("Excel XXXX Bible," where XXXX is the version year of Excel - like "Excel 2003 Bible" - which includes a searchable CD of the book and formatting examples) Amazon has it for $26 and free shipping!!! (It lists for $40). And feel free to email me with Excel questions and I'll be happy to help.

Sleepwalk is my first attempt at a complete TAB. New to the PSG, my goal is to learn the fretboard quickly so I can use sheet music instead of TAB; I think writing TAB will help me in that regard. Composing and arranging for the PSG, which I have done for keyboards, also helps me understand why I might want to use the middle-C on the 6th string rather than that on the 9th to create a more "soulful" sound via a long slide, e.g.
If you have something you would like me to TAB (or at least attempt to) let me know: I'd be happy to give it a try.
