This starts with the 1st and 4th strings played together, with the C pedal pressed, then released, then the E lever activated, all the time letting the strings ring

John,
I'm using an old Boss RDD 20 digital delay, and, as I use a passive volume pedal, I use the three cord Peavey trick
My signal sequence is PSG out to Peavey Vegas IN
PRE EQ OUT (on the front panel of the Vegas)to the input of the volume pedal.
Output of the volume pedal to the input of the RDD20 Digital Delay unit.
Output of the delay unit to PRE EQ IN on the Vegas amp

Thanks Anders and John.
I forgot to say that the steel is a ZB.
There's loads more intros and fills that I could put on the net, but the problem is that I don't know if I would be infringing anyones copyright.
I wouldn't want to upset John Hughey by demonstrating my (inferior) way of playing some of his signature licks, for example

Richard; do your own stuff insted - that can't possibly hurt anyone else - I do that all the time 'cause I'm not good enough to copy what the big boys do (LOL). Play in the flavor of Hughey and others if you like but yet in your own way. I'm sure that that would mean lots of good stuff that would inspire the rest of us, 'cause you're a good picker.

I like that Richard. I think that the great Jerry Byrd once said that no two musicians play the steel exactly the same. You post 'em I'll listen.

Nice Richard. I love that lick with the C pedal and 1st and 4th strings and then engage the E to Eb lever. That's a John Hughey special. I use that lick playing the song that Hughey and Rabbit Easter played together "Steel Heaven" That song was the first time I'd heard that particular lick.
Good tone also, I'd love to have a ZB.
