For when you're feeling in that Bobby Darin-ish mood:

Beyond the Sea

Also, it has got the word "Sea" in the title, so I figured that's close enough to a Hawaiian tune! Nice, easy, fat comp changes suited to a big archtop rhythm guitar.

Note: somebody kindly pointed out that I had the wrong key signature on this tab. Note sure how I managed that, but the link above now references a tab with the correct key signature. My apologies.

Craig.

Thanks again Craig for all your work on these arrangements.

I have started working with PowerTab now and am enjoying the experience.

I have a suggestion to make on your tabs. It has to do with the size of the fonts on the tab section. I found that by going to View (3rd title from top left corner- then to font you can make the numbers bolder print and larger. I have done that and it is helpful in reading the tabs more clearly.

Keep up the good work.

Aloha,
Don

Thanks Craig and Don. Is there any way you can put in the words with the notes? Being able to sing (hum! for folks like me) the song helps a lot in practicing the tune.

Larry,

I know there is the ability to put words to the music on PowerTab. I haven't crossed that bridge yet and tried it, but it can be done. As a result, I do not know how much time it would take to do it.

Maybe Craig can answer that.

Aloha,
Don

Hi, Larry. I looked at PowerTab to see if there was a "lyrics insert" function but apparently the best you can do is paste some text boxes below the staves.

The problem with these text boxes in PowerTab is that if you play the sound file, or if you even scroll through it, the text boxes tend to drift all over the place. That is a serious, fundemental problem with PowerTab and as a result I use the text function sparingly.

Sorry about that. I follow the lead sheet pretty dang close in my tabs.... I wouldn't actually play most of them exactly the way they're tabbed, I'd jazz up the rhythms... but they follow the lyrics pretty closely with maybe an occassional accent here and there. If you work with them a little bit I think you'll hear the lyrics in there.

Craig.

Pat,

I have no problem.

Do you have Adobe Reader installed? If not install it.

Can you view the two pages and see the contents when you click for the tab, "Beyond the Sea"? If you can see the pages you should have no problem printing it. If you can't then see above.

Good luck.

Aloha,
Don

Thanks Craig. The NP idea is great. I sure saves a lot of time searching for NP tabs.

Keep up the great work.
