I just posted two more E9 Christmas arrangements on my site. One of them is shown below. To view and to print out the other songs Click Here. The tablature should print out better from the site than from this forum post. Enjoy!

DOUG,
THANKS FOR THIS EASY TO READ, EASY TO PLAY TAB.
IT'S EXACTLY WHAT THOSE OF US WHO AREN'T EXPERT STEELERS NEED.
YOUR ARRANGEMENTS ARE VERY PRETTY FOR AS SIMPLE AS THEY ARE.

Doug,

What software do you use to do your TABS?
What are the pros and cons of it?

I am trying to decide on a software program for tabs that is user friendly and not complicated.

Thanks for your help.

Don

The program is called Tabledit. I wouldn’t say it’s user friendly, but it produces some nice looking tablature with notation.

* Supports both tablature and standard notation.
* Any number of strings from 1 to 15
* Any tuning
* Works for pedal steel, lap steel, dobro, guitar, bass, any instrument with strings.
* Assign whatever letters you want to the pitch changes or assign sharp/flat symbols.
* Place the tab either on the line or in the space (for PSG tab must be in the space)
* change string Spacing as desired
* Reset all fonts (size and face)
* Print the tab with or without the notation
* Print the notation without the tab
* Listen to the MIDI
* add Lyrics and other text and musical symbols
* Import and Export MIDI files (very handy for exporting to BIAB)

If you’re looking for a simpler steel tablature program go with Click Tab. I believe it’s just tab however, no notes.

Doug, thanks for the free tabs. I learned Silent Night from your page and got to play it on my dobro at a Christmas show we did last year. It sounded beautiful accompanied by mandolin and guitar.
