I sure wish someone would answer your post! I worked Georgia out in a single string, single fret arrangement and the twangs and slides make it okay, but not great. Then, I tried it in Bb, harmonizing and such like, and it sounded too Hawaiian--not right for this song. Eb is too high. I'm out of ideas! I do love the song, though. |

Here ya go, Rick. In G. This takes you through to the first ending. See if you like it, and if you think it's ok, I'll do the rest.
L means lower
R means raise
~~ means slur, or hold

p.s. There could be differences of opinion about chords, 'specially in the 4th bar. Some people go II-IVminor, which is cool too. I chose IV-bVII for this.
Some people also use an F#mb5 before the B7 in bar 2 (on the first syllable of the second "Georgia".) The four note chords, you can strike two string with one finger, or leave one note 'till after you've hit the other three.
Anyway, see what you think.
-John
Edit: Changed the 6th bar a bit. Sounds better. This is a simple arrangement of it, hope it's ok.

Adrienne. Jeffs version is in E9. I believe the course is Three Pedals, One Knee. It was on an LP. |
