Ok, I hope no one laughs me off this forum. I'm a rank amateur bed room player with no musical background at all. I came up with a way that dummies like me can tab ANY song and learn something in the process. I picked Roy Orbison's Crying for C6 for non-pedal steel as my first attempt at creating tab. I've bundled up the tab, a viewer, an ASCII version, and some other goodies in a single download file at
http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7b6nu/

My goal is to show beginners how they can get a song tabbed out by themselves. I found the whole project helped me understand a lot about the C6 neck. I hope it helps at least one other person.

By the way, the tab is pretty basic as I don't have the skill set or knowledge base to make it fancy.

Yes going to your site works but this is what I get when clicking on the file>

Of course it works for you cause your logged in to that section of your site on the server and have the cookie enabled on your computer....>but you have to figure out how to share that section of your site from the server...and I don't know your host or server; so I can't speculate how to.
So there ya have it..ha.

Well Verizon tech support doesn't know very much about the tools they give you to create a web site. The problem seems to be the little periods under the words "click this label to download zip file". If anyone clicks the actual label and the link doesn't work, then I'm stumped. My apologies. If you e-mail me, I'll send you the file.

Jan,

Just went to your site and had no problem accessing the page or downloading the ZIP file. Could be any variety of reasons others can't access it.

If you have the ability to set the permission for the directory and ZIP file using an FTP program, just make sure they are accessible to all.

If you use WS_FTP software right click on the directory and select the CHMOD command. Put a check mark in the READ boxes for all three options, OWNER, GROUP, OTHER Then everyone can read or access the file and directory.
Go into the DIR and do the same for the file.

If you don't have WS_FTP go to www.nonags.com and you can download free.
