...from "The Christmas album". This track has one real killer E9 ride, that I just HAD to check if it actually was possible to play! I figured out (but not up to speed ) most parts, but I've got some serious problems concerning the opening phrase. Firstly, i guess since all those descending notes seem to be picked, I guess some alternation between the thumb and one finger needs to be used...well, that wasn't the main problem. I'm pretty sure PF starts this with strings 2,4,3 with A+B down at the third fret and then moves (maybe) down to second fret with the F lever engaged ,strings 3 and 4. But then? You could go to first fret no pedals strings 3 and 4 or fourth fret A + F engaged, strings 4 and 5. Somewhere you have to make a very difficult position shift. What would your suggestions be, anyone? You can hear the whole ride on, after the theme.

This is one of my very favorite fast solos and a complete course in speedpicking if you learn all the phrases!

Surely SAINT NIKLAS should be able to figure out "Jingle Bells" which is, after all, a Christmas song. steve
