Thanks for all the requests and I'll get them out tomorrow. And Will, I got your e-mail and new address. This FREE gospel tab ministry I have going really brings a lot of joy to my heart. And I'm glad you guys seem to enjoy it. I just got back from Indy and the Gospel Steel Guitar show and what a blessing I received!
All those talented players sitting up there on the stage giving praises to our Lord and Savior on instruments on 10 strings! What a show! Many thanks to Doug for all the work in putting this on for 11 years now. No matter what we do, though, remember that it is only through the death and resurrrection of Jesus that allows us the opportunity to spend eternity in His presence!
Bless you all!
Erv

CrowBear, glad you got your tab and, no, I haven't heard the one you mentioned. At the gospel steel there were a couple of songs this Yankee never heard before but I sure liked them. They were "Beulah Land" and "Ten Thousand Years". I wouldn't mind working them up.
Robert, I'll get that tab out to you right away!

Thanks, Erv. I'll look forward to receiving the tab!
"Sweet Beulah Land" and "Ten Thousand Years" would be two wonderful choices to work up. My wife sings/plays piano with a gospel quartet and she is always humming/playing these tunes. Old gospel classics, for sure. We have the music if you need it (out of the church hymnal). Anyway, hope you decide on one or both of these!
Best regards

Robert,
Please send me copies of the two songs out of your hymnal. If you do, I will attempt to work up the tab. Neither of these songs are in our church's hymnal but then you have to realize that our hymnal was translated originally from Norwegian.
Uff-Da!
P.S.: If you need my address, It's in the upper left-hand corner of the tab.

Robert, I sure do thank you! Look forward to working on those two songs. You can maybe accompany your wife on the steel if I get them worked up.
Crowbear, my G pedal raises the 7th string from an F# to a G. I use it every once in a while for a nice effect. I also raise my 1st string from an F# to a G with the same pedal.
Marian, I'll get that tab in the mail for you right away.

Robert,
"Sweet Beulah Land" & "Ten Thousand Years" arrived in the mail today. Thanks a lot! Are they written in what is called "shaped" notes? That's for the different voices to sing by, isn't it? We're not familiar with that up North.

Erv,
Glad you received the songs ok. Very perceptive with your quick take on the "shaped notes". You may know this (maybe not)... each shape corresponds to one of the 7 scale tones (do-re-mi, etc)which with a little practice allows a singer or musician to recognize the tones without a lot of formal music theory preparation. There is a great exhibit of the shape note history in the Southern Gospel Music Museum at Dollywood, if your ever down that way.

Regards, Robert
