There's a long running inside joke here about b0b's hatred of anything with 5 strings and a skin head.
Don't worry about it. As long as b0b remains on his medication it's not a problem.
This explains why you will see this instrument's name written in code (example:b@njo). That way b0b does not realize what we're talking about, and trouble is avoided.
Back to your original question, try http://www.banjonews.com/ and the links found there. |

I am crushed.
I thought there were only three perfect instuments in the world, the steel guitar, the fiddle, and the banjo.
In my next life, i plan on learning the fiddle too.
Banjo sounds best, IMO, as back-up.
I have subscribed to BNL (banjo newsletter) since its inception clear back in about 1976.
Great magazine.
But i was hoping for something for the banjo like we have here for guitar, where tabs are shared and expertise freely given.
I do remember something like that years ago but it wasn't divided up into sections like it is here, and it was impossible to stay up on the number of posts.

I'm adding banjo tabs to my web site at www.16tracks.com.
Do a search in "Yahoo Groups" for BgnrBanjo. There are quite a few folks in that group.
There's also Banjo-L, which is a newsgroup/list type thing. There are also plenty of others on the net but this should be a good start.
I've been playing banjo for nearly 20 years now. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
