I have problems trying to print out tab that is posted here. What's the trick to getting everything to line up correctly? I'd like to be able to just print out the actual lines of tab, but I've quit trying because it never works for me. Thanks.

Highlight the tab you want, copy it, and paste it into NotePad, then print it. Notepad's font is mono-spaced as are the tabs.

Thanks, Jim, I guess it does't work in MS Word, or Wordpad, that's what I've been trying. Maybe it was too obivious for me to see. Thanks again.

What Jim said...

If you're using a Mac, try pasting it into Simple Text. The only drawback to Simple Text is you cannot format margins and page breaks. Sometimes, on long tablature documents, the page breaks in the middle of a staff.

You could also "cut-and-paste" into most any other word processing program (MS Word, etc.) and then format the margins, font, font size and page breaks so it works. (This is what I do.)

The fonts "Courier" and "Courier New" work good since they are mono-spaced fonts. (Any mono-spaced font should work.)

Well, it worked fine for "I'm going to miss her" but I went back and tried it on Reggie's tab for "Someting out of Nothing" , Everything is completely scrambled up, anyone know what's going on?

Hey Bill,

I tried both of the tablature posts you mentioned.

On posts like "Something For Nothing", where the tab is stretched out wide left to right like that, you will have to adjust your "Page Setup" settings. In MS Word go to the "File" menu and select "Page Setup". Then select the "landscape" page orientation; like turning the page sideways, so you have the 11" length of the paper running left to right. Then, if necessary, go into the "File" menu again, select "Document Layout" and adjust your left and right margins to fit the tab on the page.

I used MS Word with the "Courier" font set at the 12 point size and the page setup oriented for "landscape" and it worked fine.

Thanks Mark, that worked fine. So, I need to change the page layout settings according to the length of the tab sections. I'll try a few more and see how they turn out. Thanks again.

Is there a programme for creating tab AND notation linked together.
