Does anyone have the tab of Misty on C6th. This has always been one of my favorite steel tunes. Thanks

Tim,
I believe Herby Wallace sells the tab for that.
I wrote out an E9 version one time for 4 picks. I might still have it.

Well John, if I had seen your response before I started, it would have saved me some time!! Well, it's too late now.
Tim, this is my first draft. Maybe I'll embellish it a bit down the road. I tabbed it for a basic 5 + 1 copedent. You can play it with either a D or G on top since I made it so that you don't need the 1st string. If you have a D on top, there are several places where you can replace pedal 7 with the D note on the first string. The only thing thing that is more than the basic 5 + 1 is one chord run which requires you to raise string 3 a half tone. If you don't have a knee lever that raises string 3 a half-tone, then maybe you can split tune the string using pedal 7 and the knee lever that lowers string 3 from C to B. If you can't split tune it, on all/pull guitars, the note will probably be close enough since it's only a transition chord. If not, just leave it out. The chords are on line 1, the words are on line 10. Feel free to ask any questions.

I have Jim Loessberg's C6th tab/tape for 'Misty'& I can recommend it. It'll be fun to try out Jeff's version too. I have recordings of both Maurice Anderson and Tom Morrell doing this tune.

John, Thank you so much for your reply.
Jeff- your version is just what the doctor ordered on a cold snowy day. It is great! Thank you so much for the trouble that you went to. You Forumite's are a great group of people.
Mickd- Thanks also for your recommendation on Jim Loessberg's version. I am going to the Dallas show later this month and am looking forward to seeing and hearing Jim play. Thanks again.

Jeff - thats a very nifty chord progression you use where string 3 stays at the same tone as you move down from posn 8 to 5. Your suggestion of combining pedal 7 with the string 3 lower works well enough on my guitar.

Mick,
I also play it that way. I previously had a knee lever that raised string 3 a half-tone, but abandoned it in favor of some other pulls. By the way, you can also play that run on strings 4,7,10 but you need to be able to lower the 4th string a half-tone and many copedents can't do that. Also, this whole thing is a just a sketch, and you can modify it to suit the tempo you use. I play this in a slow, bluesy tempo, and at the end of the phrases, I fill it in with arpeggios and extra fill notes where I feel like it. Arpeggios work very nicely on the Ebmaj7 chord that is scattered all over the arrangement.

BTW, anyone who has some ideas on how they would play certain phrases differently, PLEASE POST THEM!! I also would like to get somes ideas from some other folks. When you post them, indicate where they would be played by showing the words and/or chords for the passage. I look forward to a few replies. Thanks.

That's a keeper Jeff !! I finally had to go to a landscape format to get it to print out properly but I got it for my book. Now, you wouldn't happen to have an arrangement for Autumn Leaves on C6th, would you ?? I've heard John Hughey doing it on E9th on one of the cyber stations but for me, I think it belongs on C6th !! If not, thanks a million for Misty !!

Regards, Paul
