Check in w/ Doug Beaumier. He put out a killer cassette/tab course on rock licks for steel a few years back.

Hi,

I don't find it that easy to locate Rock and Roll tabs - there just isn't a lot of material out there.

There is some tab available at Rebel & Ricky's. I sent them a clip of Buddy Cage's solo on Hello Mary Lou and they tabbed it and posted the sound bite. However, playing that is a whole other story.

I was at a fund raiser put on by WRXT radio - Chicago last year and found "Off the Record Harvest Neil Young". I mention the fund raiser because this may not be available new.

Anyway, this book has transcriptions of every instrument used on Neil Youngs "Harvest" album. In addition to the usual Guitar, bass and drums, it has peddle steel, piano and all the syphonic intruments used on "A Man and A Maid". Of course it has all the lyrics.

It was published in 1993 by International Music Publications Limited, Southend Road, Woodford Green, Essex IG8 8HN.

On the back it shows Warner Chappell Music Ltd and Order Ref: 22133 KY 33330.

It has an ISBN number of 0-86359-974-S.

I haven't done much with it. We were doing Heart of Gold when I got it but we haven't done that in ages.

Occasionally you will find the Peddle Steel part tabbed out for six string guitar. That is true in "Accoustic Classics - vol. 1 Led Zepplin", where the Peddle Steel part played by Jimmy Page is tabbed for 6 string in Tangerine. This book also has all the mandolin parts tabbed for 6 string.

I remember picking up a Rod Stuart book that contained "Mandolin Wind" and both the Mandolin and Peddle Steel part (played by Ronnie Wood) were tabbed for 6 six string.

Good luck and if you find anything interesting post it here.

Dayton,

Thanks a lot for the info . . .
You wouldn't mind posting the tab for "Heart of Gold" or "Words" would you? I'm not asking for the whole thing, but maybe a lick or two? Thanks
