By the way, I didn't have the record of "Let's Turn Back The Years" so I made that one up. These are in the All-Stars' keys (not Hank's), and they aren't exactly like the parts on the original recordings. Pretty close, though. ![](http://www.b0b.com/forum/smile.gif) |

I usually press the 'A' pedal on E9th to get the C# string from Don Helms E6th stuff. Don doesn't use the B and C# notes at the same time very often. So it's like:
E9 = E6
psg = lap
1 x
2 x
3 G# 1
4 E 2
5 C# (with A pedal) 3
or B (without) 4
6 G# 5
7 x
8 E 6
9 x
10 x For the C6th stuff, lower your E strings with the lever and use strings 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4. That's a B6th. Since the tuning used was C6th, you'll have to adjust everything up a fret.
Often when I'm playing Hank Williams tunes on the E9th, I alternate between those two positions (A pedal vs. E's lowered). You don't hear both tunings together on any of the records, but using them both (and no other positions) can really get that "old Hank" feeling across.

The band I hooked up with plays a lot of this stuff. This will come in VERY handy.
Thanks b0b.
