I changed this Forum area to a monospaced font (Courier New). It looks better when someone posts tab without following the instructions.

What do you think? Good idea, or bad?

Here's some tab without the TAB tag:

1 _(F)_______________________________(C)_____
2 ___________________________________________
3 ___________________________________________
4 ___________________________________________
5 _6A-8A___6A__6-4__6A-8A___6-6A__6__2A-3A___
6 _6B-8B___6B__6-4__6B-8B___6-6B__6__2B-3B___
7 _______8________________8__________________
8 ___________________________________________
9 ___________________________________________
10___________________________________________

and here it is WITH the TAB tag:

1 _(F)_______________________________(C)_____
2 ___________________________________________
3 ___________________________________________
4 ___________________________________________
5 _6A-8A___6A__6-4__6A-8A___6-6A__6__2A-3A___
6 _6B-8B___6B__6-4__6B-8B___6-6B__6__2B-3B___
7 _______8________________8__________________
8 ___________________________________________
9 ___________________________________________
10___________________________________________
The main difference now is size. Of course, the [TAB] tag can still be used in other Forum areas to force a monospaced font.

It looks good b0b. I'm running 1152x864 with the next to smallest fonts in IE. The timestamps run together and some of the links are so small they're unreadable, but I can live with it.

Yeah, the down side is that it affects ALL of the text on the page. The small stuff gets pretty hard to read.

I could switch to Andale Mono, which is more legible. A lot of people don't have it, though. Here's a sample:

First some tab:

1 _(F)_______________________________(C)_____
2 ___________________________________________
3 ___________________________________________
4 ___________________________________________
5 _6A-8A___6A__6-4__6A-8A___6-6A__6__2A-3A___
6 _6B-8B___6B__6-4__6B-8B___6-6B__6__2B-3B___
7 _______8________________8__________________
8 ___________________________________________
9 ___________________________________________
10___________________________________________

Now here's some small text, like you'd see on other parts of the page:

What do you think? Should I switch it to Andale Mono?

NO.
Andale Mono doesn't seem monspaced on my system; the tab isn't lined up.
I wonder if that's because I don't actually have Andale Mono, and my system is substituting something else.

Earnest, I just edited it to include Courier as the second choice. Does it look better on your system now?
