That's a goodun. Just put your bar on the 3rd fret and leave it there. You can find all the notes there. There is a pull-off to open low B string. And one phrase in the chorus is up on the 10th fret.

I don't think that's true, Earnest. I played it that way for YEARS but couldn't quite get it up to the tempo Buddy played it at. The 'B' part was the problem -- just after the little bar bounce figure. If you play M2, 4 and 6 (if you count it in 4/4) of the 'B' part up 2 frets with A+B in the V chord position I found it lies much more naturally. Much more solid single string sound. FWIW.

I was practicing some licks with the nose of the bar one day and found myself playing this song. There is almost no pedal action in this version. Lots of pull-offs and hammer-ons keep it twangy. The nose rides between two strings most of the time. The end of the song has harmonics at the 12th fret. They ring out as you raise the bar from the 15 or 13 fret. BTW - I haven't heard the Buddy Emmon's version in a long, long time, but I'm pretty sure it's not played like this. M.
