What is a good strap that does not bother the neck and shoulder for a dobro.

Webb straps are the only way to go. Tried all the others and the Webb is the best. Easiest to get on/off the instrument, stays put when you play and they are comfortable.

Hey Lyle, a great solution is the little luggage-type gizmo from Dimarzio ( a couple of other distributors also make one) that clips onto any regular guitar strap, has a string part for around the headstock of your reso, and you just clip or unclip the strap, leaving the string part attached. Simple, cheap, works great.

I don't know about where to get the DiMarzio gadget, but Webb straps are available from Paul Beard's Resophonic Outfitters. I think there is a link on the manufacturers section of the forum or you can just type in www.beardguitars.com

Saw them in the Elderly catalog for $40. Check the web site if you cannot find them.

Check out the straps in the First Quality Musical Supplies catalog. They're leather, come in Black, Brown, or Burgundy. The brand is Levy's. And the price is only $19.95. I bought one for each of my Dobro's and really like them. You can contact the company at (800) 635-2021 or on the web at: www.fqms.com I also bought a Sheerhorn and a Beard capo from them at a good price.

Man, I've seen those clip-lock things EVERYWHERE, around $4.75- and work with any guitar strap. They lengthen the strap by 6-8" which seems to be just perfect for reso use. Why pay big $ ?
