Came across this today ...

The Kennedy Center website features clips from three separate performances that include Hawaiian steelers Alan Akaka and Greg Sardinha. the video is of low bandwidth but the music has that traditional island vibe.

Andy, do you by chance have the link to the video clips? I've been searching around on the Kennedy Center site, but have been unable to locate them....

Thanks!

Many probably know this on the forum but both of these gentlemen were Jerry Byrd students whom he is very proud of.

Thanks Brad...I went about every place but there....

I'm playing one of the Alan Akaka videos now....fabulous music! Despite the poor video, the sound is great!

Thanks, Brad. I had a brain cramp and forgot to paste the link.

Alan and Greg are both fine musicians. Alan recorded with JB and the late Barney Isaacs as a steel trio on "Islands Call". Greg, in addition to being a first-rate steel player, was the producer of the CD "Made in Hawaii: Hawaiian Steel Guitar" which features the work of a number of master l.ap steel players from the Islands. Great stuff.

Another CD produced by Greg is Hawaiian Steel Vol 2. It has Bobby Ingano, Alan Akaka, Casey Olsen and Greg Sardinha on it. Great Steel playing. I have it and wanted it becasue it features three of Jerry's students who have gone on to do a lot to keep steel alive in the islands. It is available at mele.com if you would like to purchase it.

Hello Brad,

My Real Player can't find these files. Is there a better player for these programs?
