There is reason to believe if enough interest is shown to Sierra they would respond to the design and production of a D-8 Sierra Non-pedal steel...with legs...same wood/metal sandwich type of construction as the existing SL-8. For those of you who have heard or played the SL-8 you know what a "killer" lap steel it is. Just thing about having it, times two, on legs! WOW!
Let Sierra know if you would be interested.

I think that would be a wonderful addition to the Sierra line. I'm not in the market to buy one, though. I already have all of the non-pedal guitars I can use (including an incredible-sounding Sierra Laptop!).

I think it would be an incredible instrument and already expressed interest about it. However I was told not to hold my breath unfortunately. |

They are currently expanding their line of lap steels to 6, 8, 10, and 12 string models with 2 string spacing options.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if they implement a double neck at some point.

Hi, Del.
I don't know how current the input is that you have regarding the possibility of the D-8 non-pedal Sierra...but the reason for believing such an instrument could be in the future is very current. As I read the "tea leaves" it all depends on the interest shown to Sierra...at least the owner of Sierra. Anyway, I agree with you, it would be a GREAT axe. Let's hope that it comes to pass. I certainly intend to own one if it does.

Glad to hear it. I think they would be great guitars and hope any and all who are interested say so. As you say, the more the better. Now I'll go have a little cheese with my whine! |
