We have lost one of the really wonderful humans on the planet and a generous presence here on the forum. One of my first and bestest buddies here in the Hudson Valley, I am simply gutted at the news.

This is terrible news. Jon has been one of my favorite people on this forum. We will be, by far, the poorer without his presence. RIP Jon.

Terrible news. We've had many a conversation elsewhere. He'd answer steel questions and prod me for dobro info.

I will sorely miss him.

This breaks my heart. Jon and I became good friends during and after the build of his Sierra. He was a mighty fine person and someone that I will miss sorely.

I've been worried since reaching out to him yesterday with no response. He was very private about his illness, but always answered right away when I touched bases to see how he was feeling.

Jon was a talented player and a very good steel mechanic...he will be missed, a lot!

RIP dear friend, I will miss our far ranging conversations.

Oh my Lord; me and Jon go back to the beginning of this Forum; late 90's when I played with Dale Watson; Jon even came saw us when we played Manhattan, NYC...
Rest in Peace Jon; I'll miss all our great mechanical conversations.

I am shocked and saddened to read this news. Jon was definitely one of the good guys, always ready to help other folks in any way he could. The forum will be diminished without his continued presence, but he left a lot of himself here for the rest of us to remember him by. Rest in peace my friend.

This is a shock and major loss to our steel guitar community. Jon was a talented steel mechanic and a helpful friend to anyone in need. His sage advice was an important commodity to the steel guitar industry. RIP Jon, you left us a wealth of knowledge that will live on.

I too am so sorry to hear this. John was such a nice guy person, and so very knowledgeable and helpful. I played in NYC once and he came out to the show and we had a nice visit. It was great to finally meet him face-to-face after corresponding so many years.

R.I.P. John. You will be missed by so many.

Man I'm shocked to read this this morning. Jon was a really good guy!

I hooked him up with my brother-in-law's band years ago when he was still in Brooklyn.

I'm so sad to hear this, RIP Jon!

A shock since I had no idea he was ill. One of the most helpful and tolerant people here. Always willing to lend a hand where he could.

Big void left here. RIP Jon. Condolences to the family and close friends.
