Here is a great song that has been recorded by many artists. This is the George Jones version. I had to fight the steel on the track since the track was made for singers. I know Mike Johnson had a fantastic break on this song with Rhonda Vincent as well. |

| Johnny Bush was a 4/4 master. I think whatever would be played on steel could be transferred without a hiccup to either the 4/4 or 2/4 version. I think what makes Johnny Bush's record so exciting is him singing higher than the tree tops. He sounds like a bullfrog now. Still a great singer just a totally different sound to his voice. |

Paul actually I started that group. I got the idea one Saturday when I attended the Texas Steel Guitar Association meeting at Charlie Norris's store in Mesquite. The next Sat. we held the first and second meetings at my recording studio in Tyler. Lots of players showed up. Junior Knight played the first one and Walter Haynes played the second one at my studio. It was originally named Rose City Steel Guitar Association that a friend that attended the show with me came up with that name. After the second meetings we voted for Charles Tilley to be the President and he ran it for many years. The guy that originally named it got sideways with the whole group and bailed out and threatened to take legal action if we used that name so the name of the group was changed to it's present name.
Walter Haynes and I played one show together about 2008 at the Woodsman of the world building and I attended a few more shows but haven't been to one in quite a while now. Glad to see it has survived through the years. Maybe I finally did something right. 😂 |

| I never knew that David. I have been blessed to play it a few times myself. Randy and Diane Ortigo are great people and they even put us up for the weekend. There have been some great pickers come through and play the meeting. |

That's what I have heard Paul. Glad you have enjoyed participating. I hope this virus don't kill that organization like it's done to some other things.
Bealls just went out of business in Tyler. Not good. |
