For Christmas our kids went in together and got us a night at the Opry, and a night at the hotel next door. We're juggling our schedule AND keeping an eye on the weather but likely going this Friday. The big names are Rhonda Vincent, Oak Ridge Boys and Trace Adkins.

An alternative might be the following Saturday, with Vince Gill, Gene Watson and Bill Anderson, but with storms coming frequently this week seems like a safe bet.

It's the first time there for both of us. I understand Tommy White is in the house band, what other steel would we hear?

Thanks!

Robbie Primm with Gene Watson. I don't think Trace carries steel in his band now

Great info! The 1st sounds like the one I'd prefer. Thank you!

Mike I know he’s with Connie. I have seen him since with Bill. One night he worked with Bill and Connie.

I saw Eddie 5-6 months ago and he said he had been double or triple dipping at the GOO. He plays with Connie and Bill and had been subbing for Tommy in the staff band when he wanted a night off.

Just a follow-up - the correct answer is "all of the above". We went last night and had a fantastic time. If Gene Watson named his steel player I missed it, but Robbie Primm likely was right. Gene announced there were folks from Emmons in the crowd and said if anyone is considering learning pedal steel that's where they should start. That got a big nod from Robbie.

As predicted, Eddie Lange with Bill Anderson and Tommy White with the house band. All three steels were awesome.

Also we went to Music City Bar & Grill later in the evening, had a nice chat with Jay Andrews who was driving an Emmons and sounding great with a local band.

It was a wonderful evening and we sure picked the right night to go - thanks for the suggestions and info!
