Glad to get this memory refresher Ricky....but nobody I know around here, knows the intro. I can't get anybody to kick it off like that. They just look at me like I'm nuts.

But then, no fiddle in the bands I play with so maybe the guitar pickers never picked up the first part of the intro.

Yeah Jerry; I always get the Guitar player to play the first part..if he doesn't know it; I'll play it and tell him to learn it for the next gig.

I usually play both parts if the band actually knows the chords to the intro (most don't). It's rare to find bands these days that actually know the intro.

That's not all. I can't get anybody to stay with me on the long intro.

Good guys, but if I say 8 bars, 16 bars etc. on the intro they're thinking how many joints they visited before the gig. 🥴 😵‍💫

Lloyd always told me: "ricky, the best band you can play with is when all members are having the same musical conversation".
So if you can't get all band to speak the same language/conversation....either have them move on or you move on. Life is too short to have your skills limited by others around you.
