Topic: Please Help! plastic stop fell out of my Stage One steel |

I found it lying on the floor and I have no idea where it goes or which pedal or lever its supposed to effect.
Its a Stage One 10 string single neck, 4 pedals, pretty sure theres 5 knee levers, 2 on each knee and one topside.
If I take some pictures can somebody advise me where it goes and how to go about putting it back in its proper place?
This dumb noob would sure appreciate it!

Hey Patrick some pictures would help I'm a little over an hour south of you in the Dora/Summiton area.

Go ahead and post the pictures. Also add the word Stage One in the title line to attract those in the know.
Doug Earnest (builder of the Stage One) is a member here as well as Bruce Zumsted who designed the guitar. Either one has the answer you need and will help you as soon as they see it.

Thanks Barry. I could contact the guy I bought it from in Tuscaloosa but I hate to go to the trouble to break it down and transport it.
What pic angles would be most helpful? Bridge end and underside? |

A picture of the offending bit of plastic would be a start - an expert will recognise it instantly.
Is the instrument working OK?
It could be just a random bit of debris that's fallen into the case and been lurking in the mechanism.

| If it’s a nylon tuner, picture of the end plate where all the other nylon tuner ends are. One of us can likely spot where it goes. |

Well I cant seem to get the forum to accept the file type. No idea why its jus a normal pic from an Ipad. |

Reshoot the picture with a lower resolution. The forum is pickey about picture size.
iPads shoot pretty high resolution. |

Or you can just resize the photo. Modern cellphone and pad default resolutions are around 3000-4000 pixels per dimension. The files are huge, which would outstrip server space and take up enormous bandwidth uploading and downloading. Around 1000x1000 or so pixel resolution is more than adequate for web display.

Patrick mail the photo to yourself and select medium size when you get it post that picture to the forum it will be resized and it will post.

| Not seeing anything out of ordinary here, no exposed rod ends missing tuning nuts, is there a loose rod underneath? If there is a stray piece in one of the photos it's not showing itself to me unless it's the blurry white rectangle top left, hard to see its shape. Is your instrument playing fine, all the pedals and levers doing their thing in tune, or is something off? It's a puzzlement. |

Resize your photos to 1000 pixels or less per side and it will work. |

| Could the mystery piece possibly be merely something that at some point was dropped into the works when the instrument was upside-down in its case being either packed or unpacked, and eventually worked its way loose and fell out after it was set up and turned over? |

Turn the guitar over and post pictures of the underside.
I can’t tell from the end plate, but the guitar has a raise on string 1. Sometimes string 7 may have a raise or lower as well. But string seven shows nothing. Except one of the raise holes looks like there could be a rod hiding back in there.
Unable to tell without seeing underside. But we can probably figure it out if we see the mechanical aspects.
Keep putting good pictures. One of us will probably figure it out. |
