Jackson steel posted a couple cryptic things on their Instagram account that seem to suggest they may start making Sho-Buds?

Anyone know anything about this!?

Yes, it's true! David, Harry, and Dawn Jackson have confirmed that Sho-Bud steels will be built again, and they are now working on a new Sho-Bud website. The Jackson Website tells about it too.

I guess that maybe Gretsch sold the Sho Bud name? Back back to where it really belongs, in my opinion. Could be I suppose. I mean it wasn't doing Gretsch much good anyway.

It will be wonderful to see the ShoBud name on new pedal steel guitars, and in my opinion, these "new" Buds will be by far the finest steel guitars to bear the ShoBud name due to the refinements made on pedal steel guitars in the past few decades .. The Jacksons know how to build great pedal steel guitars, and I am really happy that the proud Shobud logo will once again be seen on new instruments built by them.. bet you will see a LOT of them on stages not long after they are available.... bob

The possible roadblock is that the two Jackson brothers are up in age. That worries me for a classic guitar to have a lasting future.

The Jackson’s do think “out of the box” with their great ideas.

Most past manufacturers got out of the business as they aged.

I hope they will be using cast aluminum and not cnc billets. Cast is much better for sound. That’s the way they use to be made and sounded fabulous.

That makes sense the guy on eBay who sells nos shobud said someone had bought back all the stuff from the Gretch warehouse in Carolina. I wonder what’s happened to the MCI stuff.

Yes what Kevin said.
You can put a name on any modern built guitar and it will sound just like all the other modern sound; but there is ONLY ONE SHO~BUD SOUND> Period.!!! So we'll see.
