I recently purchased a late 60's Baldwin Era Shobud 6139 (wood neck wraps around the changer and pickup) serial number 7550.

There are plenty of threads on here about modifying the 6139 and 6140 models, but I can't seem to find anybody talking about the pedal placement of the baldwin era shobuds. They originally came with the floor pedals closer to the center of the guitar (more like a single neck c6). Since they originally came with only 1 RKL it wasn't really an issue at the time. I'm interested in adding a few extra knee levers without doing any serious modifications to this steel.

So here is my question: Does anybody out there have a 3x4 shobud with floor pedals still located in the middle of the guitar? Or is this not a common thing to do because of the close proximity of hardware? I'm capable of moving everything around, I'd just hate to do it and drill any unnecessary holes in such a wonderful piece of shobud history. I am 5'6" for what it's worth, and sometimes feel like I'm reaching hard for that F lever depending on the setup, and thought a more localized knee system may be in my interest anyways!

Lastly (or Lashley), the previous owner had 4 after market/homemade baskets added to this 6139. They don't have holes on them to attach to floor pedals so I know that they were installed with the intent of being used as knee levers only, I'm just worried they took the hardware off because it wasn't comfortable to play on. I'll be needing additional parts for this job, I'm just hoping for some reassurance from you all that what's already been drilled and installed on this guitar can stay where it's at.

If you've got a 6139 or 6140 post a pic of it! I have one of each they are some of shobuds coolest guitars Mr. Green
