It would be nice if someone could share that technique or post a link to it if it has already been posted. Thanks in advance |

I don’t know if I have the right technique. Bud Carter showed me in his shop one time how to make them. I bought a small vise. The idea is to get the small (perpendicular) 90 as sharp as possible. Which gives just a small hook to loop the o ring to. The horizontal 90 should be just wide enough for the bell crank width. I took a bunch of stainless rods and practiced making them. Compared to the originals, they are almost identical. I still use that same method now when I need a to make one. I would add, if the o ring tends to slip you can bend the perpendicular “hook” a little bit away from the changer end. I don’t have any with me at present but can send pictures when I get home. |

I’ve had to make a few and I just bent a U shape and I also set my pulls and lowers where don’t need O rings to hold rods in. _________________ Henry Matthews
