I am interested in selling my early 50's Oahu Iolana steel guitar. I have owned it since the 50's and it has been stored in the original case since the early 60's.
The instrument is in excellent condition with new tuner knobs, and Stringtone changers on both necks. The legs were added. The case is in good condition with normal scuffs from the ages. It was purchased from Ron Dearth Studios in Lima Ohio. I am asking with $950 plus shipping. Additional pictures available. |

Thanks for that serial number information. I did not buy it new. I bought it in the later 50's. I was taking lessons from Ron Dearth and he wanted us all to have this instrument. I just posted in "Stories" a picture of this instrument and others like it at the annual Hawaiian Steel guitar competition at Cedar Point Ohio. |

Hi Bob
A beautifully preserved instrument.
Two quick questions:
1) What tunings are available on Each Neck via the Stringtone changers?
2) Do Each of the Stringtone changers work as designed?
Thanks
Ron |

The tuning on the changes are
First neck tunings A E C#
Outer - Second neck C6 E7 and C7.
They work perfectly. |

I got to play one that was in Bobby Seymour's shop in Hendersonville maybe 10-12 years ago and it sounded great. Oahu made some great guitars in that space just below the Fenders, Ricks, and Gibsons, and they thrived.
Probably the best-preserved specimen I've seen in a while Best of luck with the sale! _________________ Remington Steelmaster S8 w/ custom Steeltronics pickup.
