For sale in Europe sumptuous Jackson Madison 63 double neck (E9/C6) from 2011. The steel is absolutely stunning and in mint condition. It plays with great flexibility, smooth and an incredible tone. It is equipped with the system that lowers the actions by the movement of the tuning keys. It's the first Madison made by Jackson, it's a unique piece and one of the most beautiful Pedal Steel ever made.
4 knees and 8 floor.

Am I seeing correctly in your video, It appears that when you lower your E's, the tuning machines at the headstock rotate to lower the string?
Never done saw nothin like that before... 😁 |

Yes indeed it's an innovation of Jackson and honestly it's really very very good, the travel is short, the knee travel is really sweet and incredible and contrary to what we might think it stay in tune !! And it's very fun and technicaly beautifull to see it in action.

Not easy to describe because we don't have direct access to the mechanism under the head. It is an ingenious system composed of a pivots, stops, rods and nylon tunnings located on the opposite part of the changer (under the head) another changer in short. Against all exportations it's incredibly soft and stay in tune (and beautifull to see in action).

Tommy it's basically a pull-release type of deal with the lowers. A spring pulls the string against a stop and that's your open note. When you push a pedal/knee, the bellcrank moves and releases the spring tension allowing the tuning peg to swivel and the note to lower. A small allen screw, finger adjustable, is located on the top of the guitar by each tuner and limits the distance that the tuner rotates for tuning purposes. When you release the pedal, the spring pulls the note back up to the open position. It's really quite brilliant and unlike a push pull, this allows you to lower an already raised note like many do on their left knee up lever, strings five and ten.
I mention Push/Pull because set up properly, the open and raised notes both stop against the body similar to a P/P. Harry Jackson says it was inspired by the Fingertip in as much as you have a thicker solid one piece changer finger on the "changer" end of the guitar. |
