If you look on U-Tube, Speedy has an instrumental called Priscilla, That has a lot of the same chord changes in it.
Sounds like he may be jumping necks to get some of the octive changes. |

| If you go on the internet and search Speedy West steel guitar tuning. It will come up some tunings. He used a Bigsby guitar early and used some strange tunings, Some sound like early hawian tunings. |

I never met Speedy Sr. In person but I was good friends of his son Speedy West Jr. Jr Lived and performed in and around Oklahoma City his whole life. Jr. Was the best guitar player I have heard to this day. Jr. Died of Cancer a few years ago in Oklahoma City, Jr. was the nicest musician I ever met! Helpful in any way to people, giving lessons, tips, motivation to many that followed him. Jr. Told me a lot about his dad and I know he travelled a lot back in the 70’s to visit Jr. and catch some of his performances from time to time. Both were excellent musicians! Back to this post heading, Jr always played 15 minute specials on his D-10 pedal steel set up on stage and I mean lit it up! They didn’t call them Speedy by accident, I was not interested in Pedal Steel in those days but more than enjoyed hearing Speedy West Jr. completely destroy every song he played(meant in a good way). Everyone in Oklahoma misses Speedy West jr in our area and always know he will not be forgotten. Speedy was lead guitar for a band called “Maya” and he also put another band together to do some recording of his songs he wrote and arranged. Man I miss Speedy West Jr. and his big smile.
