Looking at getting into a 90’s country tribute situation and thought a chorus pedal might be helpful. What were guys using then? I have a CE-2 Waza I can take from my tele board, but I wouldn’t mind having something specifically for my steel board. |

I used a Boss CE-2 throughout the 80s and into the 90s and was always happy with it when applied judiciously to the overall sound. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

In all honesty, probably any chorus pedal will do.
Especially if you don't have it on all of the time.
One alternative tip: Don't overlook using a flanger.
A chorus and a flanger are essentially the same circuit, EXCEPT a chorus does not have a REGEN control.
If you set the Regen to zero/off on a flanger......Presto.
You have a chorus.
Also, there are many really inexpensive pedals out there made overseas.
A few years ago I put together an entire pedal board for a friend of mine using cheap import mini pedals.
Chorus, flanger, two delays......I didn't pay more than $20 for each of them.
Cruise Craigslist and look for brand names:
Donner
Mooer
Moen
There is a potential down side to these mini-pedals: There isn't room for a battery, so you need to use a wall wart. |

If I'm not mistaken, I think Sonny Garrish used a Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble. The gray one with 2 foot switches. I could be wrong though. I thought I was wrong one other time, but I was wrong |

You may be right this time, Tim. |

Well, if Sonny didn't, Paul Franklin definitely did! |

I never thought I'd get into those cheap mini pedals but the Flamma FC05 Mod pedal has a great chorus, a nice phaser and cool rotary effect and more and it's only $35... I put together a very compact board and it's the perfect utility effect for me, super easy to tweak on the fly.
All I wanted was a phaser but figured I'd try this out and have been really happy with it! _________________ Music mixer, producer and pedal steel guitarist
