Thanks to Jim Palenscar (Steel Guitars of North Country), I have a lovely new pair of chrome-on-black 'boards for my Emmons.

The back one lifted off easily but I'm left with some slight residue. What should I use to clean it and, most importantly, what adhesive is best for the new ones?
=============
Ooops! I just saw the back of the new 'boards: they have a 3-M coating. I bet they're self-adhesive! Confused
==============================

Many thanks for any suggestions.

Goo Gone is a citrus based product that will remove many types of glue. Try it on just a small section to see if it removes the glue completely, To your satisfaction.
Ask the lady of the house she may have some, Great to remove stickers from glass products. Good to remove bubble gum too.

Bobby!

Good thinking.

When I casually told Susie what I was doing, she said nothing but came back in the room with the very product you specified!

It worked very well.

I'd be careful with getting it on the finish of the body though. A little goes a long way with Goo Gone should take that gunk right off.
