Came across a 1977 Emmons S10 with 6 pedals but no knee levers. What could the setup be with the 6 pedals? |

Jack,
Most S10s like that were standard E9, just with the changes that are normally on levers on the extra pedals. It's seems there would also occasionally be C6 rigs as well. _________________ Co-owner and operator: Emmons Guitar Co. |

What was the rationale behind that? For players who were used to old Fenders pre knew levers becoming common? _________________ Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous; praise is meet for the upright. John,
1977 does sound a bit late for that setup, it's likely a bit earlier than that, though anything is possible. In the mid 60s when those guitars were developed, most guitars come without levers, they were only an option. For some reason, that configuration carried over on S10s a bit longer than it did for D10s. _________________ Co-owner and operator: Emmons Guitar Co. |

I have one I got very cheap from a "storage wars" type guy, it had 6 pedals and no knees when I first got it. It's a fatback from around '73 I'd guess. The pedals and left side pedal axle mount bracket are installed one space to the right from normal, which made me think it was probably a C6 guitar originally, but I don't know. It was a pretty rough and had been altered underneath by someone who obviously had no idea what they were doing, only a few rods were still connected and doing anything, so its original tuning and setup are a mystery.
