Is there a simple mechanism that would enable a spare foot pedal to lower a couple of strings? (Not attached to any pedal at the moment). Diagram appreciated if it's possible!
TIA.

Hey Tony, I had the same question awhile back, and a fellow steeler sent me this idea, which worked great, for one string. Sorry for the crude diagram, but you can get the idea. I used a half of a small cabinet hinge for the plate, which rotates on the screw in the center. I'm assuming your doing this on your Pierce guitar. It worked on mine.

Many thanks Gil... EXACTLY what I was looking for. I made up a knee lever assembly (which is only ok) but I'd prefer to use the fourth pedal and rod I have sitting in the case.
Now, off to the shed I go! See you next Spring. 😂

If you have the pedal and parts in the case.

Post some pictures of under side of guitar and parts you have, Would help understanding the problem.

If the guitar is an all pull changer. A Pedal, Pedal rod, Cross rod with bell cranks, Pull rods and Nylon tuners would be all needed for adding raises or lowers.

Hard to make a decision without good information.

you will need a spring to pull the string back to pitch on your reverser. this works great.

this is the reverser that was on my 8 string marlen.

Yep,a spring! I lost the photos you sent me, and drew this for Tony from my failing memory. I've since reverted my Pierce back to the original setup. Thanks for chiming in Mark, Tony probably realized this if he tried it out yet.

Thanks, as Confucius said, one picture (with a spring!) is worth a thousand drawings.😂
