I briefly had a lovely JCH on which 1,2,7 were raised on RKL. On my Emmons, that change was on LKV.
I decided to switch them on the Emmons, bit lowering the Bs on the vertical was a v pain.
I thought things through and, after decades of refusing to consider that change on a pedal, I caved in!
I then switched P4 with LKV and here is the result. I believe I have everything covered. I am already getting used to the new P4. I'm having to practice half-pedaling the A, but it's already feeling natural.
Due to technical snafu, I am unable to post the PDF. My friend, Dale Rottacker, has kindly agreed to add it to this thread. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

It's interesting that you lower both Cs but only raise the high one. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

I have given this much thought, but I'm not immune to intelligent suggestions, especially re: E9th. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

Roger, I have a question for each neck if you don’t mind:
On E9th I remember reading a lot of posts from you over the years about having a separate Isaac’s pedal change on the floor for major 7th chords and stuff like that.
I see you now sharp the A on that (pedal 1). What is that pedal for?
On C6th I remember you were experimenting not to long ago with getting a middle D by raising C or dropping E.
I see you have neither right now. What is your final verdict on that D?
Thanks,
Joe |

Joe:
In the last three or four years, I concede that I've been a bit of a pain in the neck regarding changes to my setup.
I retired in 2020 for medical reasons. Ever since starting to experiment at home, I have seen other possibilities. When I was playing full time, I wouldn't have dreamed of altering things: too much was riding on my obligations.
Yes, I always liked the principle of the Isaac's pedal. Now, I achieve the same effect by using the A pedal, but along with RKR which lowers 10 back to B. There's my 4/5 chord.
I now find, after moving my 1,2,7 raise to RKL, major 7ths easier to find (RKL and pedals down).
It's a process that entertains me.
As for the D on 6th (and perhaps this was my lack of mechanical skills), I couldn't get it feeling light enough.
In any case, my comfort level on the back neck falls short of my E9 knowledge.
Nobody will suffer as a result. I only post this stuff to invite suggestions from those more skilled than I. I have never insisted that 'thus is the way it should be done'. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

I appreciate your response, thanks.
And I see now what you mean about the split with RKR and the A pedal, that is a cool trick! |

Joe
I woke up thinking:
'Joe asked a question that I failed to address!'
I reread you post at 5.00 am (I'm always up early!) and it was immediately obvious where I had blundered!
My pedal 1 is your standard 'C' pedal!! It raises 4 & 5, just your C pedal presumably does.
That was a typo on my part; I will correct it.
I will also add that my LKV (raising 6 a tone),along with LKL1 and my A pedal, replicates the 7th pedal on C6.
Without lowering the Es, it puts me in F# at the zero fret. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

Edited to add:
Pedal one (my C pedal) should, of course, read:
Raises 4 and 5 to F# and C#
Thanks to Joe who questioned ma as to what possible purpose that might have.
I can't edit that post because it was Dale who posted the chart (Dale often rescues me from internet-related issues!) and only he can alter that post.
Everything else is right!
(Dale's not to blame - he posted what I'd sent him. ) _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

Dale has corrected the actual chart!
See, I told you he's an IT whiz!
Plays very nicely, too. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!
