So I bought a (I believe) 1946/47 Fender Princeton lap steel and it arrived today. I didn’t pay attention to all the pics but when it arrived I noticed a second hole obviously in the body - the seller (super nice guy, sold it to me cheap) said his dad used it to stand up and play it — with the photos here, does anyone have any idea how that might’ve worked or what part I could buy to replicate it? I don’t see how a single leg helps but perhaps it was something manufactured for this purpose, or perhaps the original owner made it himself but you can definitely see that something was in there, as the threads can be seen.

Thanks for all the help, everyone. It’s been lovely this week as a newbie!

I don't see how that would work as a place to connect to a stand. It's on the side facing away from the normal player's side and anything used as a stand would stick out and away from the player.

Perhaps the original owner had this guitar on a stand with another guitar as well?

I’ll bet it was for a microphone clip or something like that. It has a weak pickup so that would make sense
