Hello, wondering about peoples opinions of a 1975 Sho-Bud pro 1 value. This guitar has 3 pedals and 2 knee levers. It appears to be in excellent condition and has just sat in the case the past couple years.

Based on checking previous listings it looks like these guitars have sold for right around 2k in the past few years. Is that a fair price for one of these in excellent condition?

I am also wondering if a 1975 Sho-Bud would be a good guitar for a beginner? Would I need to add 2 additional knee levers down the road? What is the cost for doing this usually?

2 K is pretty fair, and to be honest, I am now seeing guys asking 3k + for S10 Buds.. Not sure if they are getting that much, but Buds keep going up every year.. 2 k is a good price for a Bud S10 these days, and I would pay that in a minute for a clean one if I were looking for one.. adding 2 levers, I would expect to add $400... Parts keep going up as well. A few years ago, $150-175 was standard for each lever. Maybe, but today but I would plan on $200 per lever and related pull parts.... bob

Arthur,
Bob hit it mighty close. I have a 1975 Sho-Bud Pro I and added two complete knee lever kits in January of 2021 and the cost of the parts were 435.10. I bought them from PSG parts and they were flawless. The steel has no mechanical issues and I'm very pleased with it. As far as value, I would be hesitant to take 2000.00 for mine.
