What strings are operated by the 5th verticle knee lever? I have an older MSA the Universal i am trying to connect the verticle knee. |

With the standard E9/B6 Universal tuning, generally, the Vertical Knee Lever lowers the 5th string alone (B to Bb) . This would be the equivalent of the 3rd string lower on a D10 C6 tuning as well as the common 5th change on the E9 tuning.
You can put it on the octave lower B but most players don't like it there for the Universal side. |

My vertical lowers 5 but also raises 9 a half step.
This is to avoid having to use P8 just to raise one string. It has drawbacks but I also have P6 on a lever, so I totally avoid double-footing _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

I have my 5th string half-step lower on LKR.
I use the LK vertical lever to lower the G#s (3,6,10) a half step. _________________ 1979 MSA U12 Pedal Steel
