hi Paul… Wednesdays are usually good nights for steel in Asheville, Matt Smith hosts a songwriter showcase at Highland Brewing’s main location from 6-8. Matt plays steel with Amanda Anne Platt and Amy Ray Band among others.
then there’s Western Wednesday at Double Crown on the west side which usually has steel, though not guaranteed. I’m not familiar with this week’s performers Marley Hale and Nicky Diamonds but music starts around 9pm
Cork & Keg (Weinhaus) downtown usually has live country music on Fridays and Saturdays, not sure about this weekend though.
here’s a good live music calendar you can check out:

I see Julia Sanders is playing Jack of the Wood on Fri at 9pm, she's a wonderful singer-songwriter who usually has pedal steel in the band
also, it looks like Matt Smith is out of town this week but he'll be back next Wed if you're still around _________________ 1965 Emmons S-10, 3x5 • Emmons LLIII D-10, 10x12 • JCH D-10, 10x12 • Beard MA-8 • Oahu Tonemaster |
