We have a scammer who will say he is Mark Draycott OR Mark Draycott's son. Mark Draycott has passed away, and he did not have any sons.

His actual identity is unknown, but his phone number is 706-381-7086. Beware of anyone calling from this number. Do not give him money. He does not actually have anything to sell. Pure scam.

Thanks to the mods for your diligence and keeping us safe from scammers! In other forums I belong to, when a forum member passes on, their username is amended with an “RIP.” Might be worth considering, and/or perhaps restricting new posts with the account.

About 10 years ago I did that exact thing. Went through the forum archives and collected about 300 names of deceased members and sent to b0b. I guess over time it's fallen by the wayside. Sad

That's a very good idea! I'll start going through the "gone home" section and doing that, so people know right away that someone is passed on.

Your dad left the forum in good hands. I’m sure he’d be proud.

Thanks for watching out for us, Shodhana. I got a hit on a free reverse phone number lookup site (via the DuckDuckGo search engine). Emailing you the result. The number itself may be spoofed, but if the scammer is dumb enough (happens) to use a phone registered in their own name, follow up w/ the state’s attorney general may be in order.

Be good,
-Pete
