As a rank beginner at pedal steel, 77 years old and arthritic, and having failed to thrive with conventional D-10 or S-10 steels, I decided to start at a lower level of complexity, and bought a 6 string, 2 pedal, 2 knee Sho-Nuff pedal steel by Growler in North Carolina.
I've been playing it about a week now, and thought I'd give interested beginners a tour through it.
I'll be doing this in thread form.

It's an "S6" with their optional wrist rest. I find it quite comfortable to play. The wrist rest fastens to the body via slip clips, and removes for transport.

I don't know what kind of pickup it has, except to say it's obviously single coil. This far I have only played it through my Boss Katana Mini, 8 watts of screaming solid state power coming from 6 AA batteries, but I find the tone surprisingly clean and bell-like. I've played my 1956 Alkire Eharp through this little amp, as well as my daily driver, a 7 string C6 that I made some years ago, and this guitar sounds much better than either of them. To be honest, I didn't see this coming.
Tonight is the Old Geezer's Jam and I'll see what it sounds like turned up loud through my Quilter Micro Pro Mach II

The undercarriage is, to put it gently, pretty crude to look at, but it works, works dependably, and the guitar stays in tune better than others I have owned.
This is a pull release system - like I said, fairly crude. I have a GFI Expo S10 at home, so I've seen refined work, and this ain't it, but ... It works surprisingly well.

The legs attach to ¼-10 studs with nuts and washers, which isn't the quickest way to put one together, but it has extra studs, shorter, to provide security, and once it's put together it's quite stable.
Since they're not machine drilled, and there is some variance, the legs are numbered.
It comes with a little custom made ½" wrench.
